2008 Honda City - All new generation!
Few days ago, my friend tell me that the new Honda City will be released in 2008 Thai World Premier on June. Wow! That means it is just 1 month away from its launched if the rumours is true!
However, some rumours over the net tell us that it will be launched in August 2008 on Thai World Premier. Im not sure which one is true, but seems that the new Honda City is really coming very soon.
The 2008 new version Honda City is code named as Honda City 2px. Some information about the design of the car is everywhere on the internet.
Recently, the Honda just launched the 2008 new Honda Fit / Honda Jazz. Therefore we can expect model change for Honda Fit-Aria / Honda City very soon!
As usual, the Honda City will be based on Honda Jazz. Just as the previous generation, the Honda City will be a Honda Jazz with a boot attached with some minor redesign on the front. In Japan, the Honda City is called Honda Fit-Aria while the Honda Jazz is named Honda Fit.
My friend also tell me that the Honda City design will be similiar with current generation's Honda Civic on some area.
Below are some of the new Honda City design:
- A-Pillar looks like current Honda Civic.
- Rear pillar looks like current Honda Civic.
- Headlamp look like Honda Civic, Honda Odyssey, Honda Airwave.
- Better dashboard as compared to Honda Jazz.
The engine on the new Honda City also will be upgraded to i-VTEC SOHC engine instead of current VTEC. However, whether the i-DSi will be still available or not is a question. As the new Honda Jazz do not have i-DSi engine variant.
Just for your information, some Honda SA had been confirmed that new Honda City should available on end of 2008 or early of 2009 in Malaysia.
