This village is known as "Fucking" since year 1070! This is named after a man from 6th century called Focko. "-ing" is an old germanic surfix meaning people! So in another words, "Fucking", means "Place of Focko's people"!

The road sign is also a hot item for theft! I believe this road sign is more expensive road sign in the world! Every year, the Austria government have to spend lots of money to replace the stolen road sign! lol... Wonder what people want to do with a "Fucking" road sign. lol... =P

On the year of 2004, a vote was held on changing the village name, this is because of the stolen sign problem. lol... Luckily, the resident's refused to change the village name. So, we still able to see this village name in the world.

This village is a good place to visit if you having a chance to travel in European countries. This is apart of the Fucking road sign, the scenery there is also magnificent! Austria is also a great country to travel if you love to enjoy peace.
