Honda City 2008 3rd Gen SPYSHOT!!!
The 2008 3rd Generation Honda City finally seen on the road of Pune in India! Although it is not sure whether the car seen is Honda City or not, but we can almost comfirm that it is the new third generation with all supporting facts.
Previously, i had also published a post about the new Honda City 2008 generation and seems my speculation is proven. Link to my previous post about this new Honda City can be found at the end of the post.
For your information, this Car carrying UP16 TC 0745. UP16 is number plate issued in Noida, India. Red coloured plate are only issued for manufacturer's test car purpose. Additionally, Honda is the only car manufacturer plant in Noida. So we can comfirm that this car is from Honda. From side profile and size wise, i believe that this will be the new Honda City.
As in rumour, the new Honda City front design have similiarity with Honda Airwave, Euro Honda Civic especially the head lamp! The model in the spyshot did not feature fog lamp, so i guess it is the base version of the City. It also feature the front grille that having Accord feel with it! This new front design had been seen in Honda FCX Clarity and Euro version Civic.
Side profile wise, the new Honda City feature a very sleek A pillar like the current Honda Civic! It definitely improved the aerodynamic on Honda City.
Next is another side profile shyshot of the new Honda City, you can see here that the new Honda City rear pillar is similiar with the Honda Civic too! The Honda intends to copy the Civic design in new Honda City? lol The new City seems longer too! Expect more room in the car.
Next is rear picture of the new Honda City, it feature some BMW feels! By looking at this spyshot, the new Honda City seems wider than the current generation. Grow in size again just like Honda Civic? lol.
Besides that, if you notice, the new City dashboard is different with the Jazz which is more simple. I believe this will help Honda to reduce the cost as it is easier to mould it.
Its expected to be in Thai World Premier somewhere around June 2008.
Its official launch in Thailand are expected to be somewhere around August or September this year. While the Honda SA in Malaysia confirmed that the New Honda City should be available somewhere at the end of 2008.
