For your information, the new Nissan Sylphy lauched in Malaysia will be 2.0 litter model. Pricing will be around RM110,000 - RM120,000 region. This will be placed the Nissan Sylphy on same price with the Honda Civic 2.0. This is interesting as we will see this 2 model competing in future.

Some of you might wonder will the new Nissan Sylphy replace the current Nissan Sentra? In my opinion, i think this might happen. As we see the Honda Civic also had grown in size.

In other country, there are 2 engine variant available which is 1.5 litter engine and 2.0 litter engine. However, the 1.5 litter might not be launched here as it will competing with Nissan Latio which already launched in Malaysia. Same as the Nissan Latio, the Nissan Sylphy will be CKD in Malaysia by Tan Chong's plant in Serendah.

The new Nissan Sylphy is mid sized luxury sedan targeted to executive woman. It is a attempt made by Nissan to attract ladies to move from mini mpv or k car to sedan.

The MR20DE 2.0 liter engine of the Nissan Sylphy will able to produce 133bhp at 5200 rpm and 191Nm at 4000rpm. The engine will be mated to Nissan Xtronic CVT transmission. For your information, the new Sylphy engine is new engine developed by Nissan and Renault.

In my opinion, this car will be able to give an impressive power over weight ratio as the weight of the car is just around 1,200kg.

Suspension wise of the Sylphy, the bodyroll of the car is not too significant. Thus, we can expect luxury comfort ride from this car. The tyre grip of the car also quite good. However, one down point of this new Sylphy is its braking system as it only equipted with drum brake at the rear. Lets hope the Tan Chong will put in disc brake for rear tyre.

Interior wise, the new Sylphy interior space is huge with comfort leg room for rear passenger. The dashboard design also well designed and look neat with classy feel. The interior colour of the new Sylphy is beige scheme.

If our version of Nissan Sylphy is same version as the Singapore, then we might have same spec with it. As for Singapore model, the driver seat will be equipted with electronic adjustable seat with memory function. Which is a big improvement from Nissan Sentra. Besides that, the Nissan Sylphy also equipted with keyless access which usually only found in much more expensive model.

Other equipment found in Singapore's Nissan Sylphy is such as Electronic climate control system which comes with Plasmacluster ion air filter. There is also a satelite navigation system found on Singapore's Nissan Sylphy which made the car almost have same equipment level with luxury sedan.

However, the Nissan Sylphy is 65mm narrower than the Honda Civic which is a down point. Luckily, the Nissan Sylphy seems have higher equipment level and better comfort level than Honda Civic. So lets see whether the Nissan Sylphy able to compete with Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla Altis.

Well, now still too early for us to judge the car, so lets wait till Nissan launched the Sylphy and we will able to have test drive on it.
