Perodua MPV will look like this? Toyota/Daihatsu new joint design MPV!

Yeah! It had been a long time after we heard rumour that the new Perodua MPV will based on Viva or Myvi which i also not sure.
-

However, thanks to my reader anonymous which provide some useful information for us. Recently, Toyota had launched a new mpv which is a global model together with Daihatsu. It is a 7 seater MPV with lengh of 4180mm - 4190mm depends on spec. This new MPV will set to debut in Japan market in this December!
-

For your information, this new MPV model are based on our Perodua Myvi / Daihatsu Boon / Toyota Passo platform. I think everyone should know that actually this 3 model is the same car.
-

According to the Perodua tradition, this model might be bring in to our market just like the Myvi which is also Daihatsu Boon and Toyota Passo.
-

-

From that picture, did you sense some Myvi DNA? The headlight have similiarity with Daihatsu Move and Toyota Ractis which basically is the same car. While the front mask are similiar with Toyota Wish! Baby wish in the making?
-

For the height, this new mpv built by Toyota and Daihatsu is 1620mm and have similiar side profile with the Nissan Note.
-

-

The rear light of the new MPV will be mounted on C-pillar which is similiar with the current Perodua Kenari, Viva, Myvi and also the coming Proton MPV.
-

Besides that, from the picture shown above, we can sure that there will be no sliding door features on the new MPV. Maybe this will dissapoint some MPV fans as current Toyota Sienta had it.
-

Apart from that, reader anonymous also told me that the meter panel will be mounted on centre position same as the Toyota Vios. This feature are said to provide us better road visibility which i think it only help a little bit as i drive a Vios.
-

-
The performance wise, the new MPV will be using the 1.5 litre DOHC engine which will produce 109ps! Perhaps it is the same engine used in our Vios as it give same output level.
-
While for the transmission, it is powered by either a manual transmission or a 4 speed auto transmission which do not give any surprise to us! However, some variant of this new MPV will be powered by 4WD! Lets hope this will come in to Malaysia too! It sure will be a fun car to drive!

So now if the Perodua MPV will based on this model, lets see how Perodua will localised it. From what reader anonymous told and my observation with Myvi, mostly the Perodua will do some cosmetic changes on the front grille, headlight, rearlight, and also the position of the rear number plate.
-
The brand new Perodua MPV will set to debut somewhere in September 2009 which is less than 1 year from now! So lets open our eye to wait more spy shot coming in!
