Few days ago, Hicom-Chevrolet Sdn. Bhd, a subsidiary company of DRB-HICOM launched the new 1.4L AVEO notchback, 1.6L or 1.8L Optra Magnum Sedan and 1.6L Optra Magnum Estate. the Aveo is sold at RM72,587.20, Optra Magnum Sedan is sold at RM88,023.50 and Optra Magum Estate are sold at RM95,205.50.
Recently, the General Motor also plan to built a manufacturing plant in Malaysia. South-East Asia operations president Steve Carlisle said the plan was currently under study on the details such as the number of vehicles to be manufactured and when production would start. All these studies are to be firmed up over the next few months.
Besides that, Hicom-Chevrolet Sdn Bhd also tell us that Chevrolet would honour valid warranties issued in the past to 14,000 to 15,000 existing Chevrolet customers and provide after-sales servicing for vehicles sold by previous dealers. So if you own a Chevrolet sold by previos dealers, do not worry as your Chevrolet warranty still valid.

Chevrolet AveoThe Chevrolet Aveo launched by Hicom Chevrolet is actually just the same car with the one launch earlier on. There are just some minor cosmetic change on this model. The new interior of Aveo are now refined and more luxurious. Another changes in this car is now it has dual airbag feature.
The Aveo is power by 1.4little Variable Geometry Intake Manifold engine which put out 91bhp at 6200rpm and 130nm of torque at 3400rpm.

Chevrolet Optra Magnum Sedan & Estate
Basically, the new Optra Magnum Sedan and Estate is just an midlife facelift version of the previous Optra sold in our country. Most of the changes can be seen on front part of the new Optra. The platform and mechanicals is the same with the pre-facelift Optra.
The new Optra Magnum Sedan is powered by 1.6L and 1.8L engine while there is only 1.6L engine available with the Optra Magnum Estate.
The 1.6L engine will produce 105bhp at 5,800rpm and 150Nm at 4,000rpm. As for the 1.8L engine, it will able to bring you 119bhp at 5,800rpm and 160Nm at 4,000rpm.
Other feature of the new Optra Magnum is such as the ABS, Tracktion control system, drivers and passenger airbag.
The suspension system remain same with the previous generation Optra which is MacPherson strut setup with a stabilizer bar for front and independent suspension with stabilizer bar at the rear.
