Proton MPV 2009 test car picture
Hi! During the new Proton Saga launch, the Proton CEO tell us that a mpv model will be released next year. It is a mid size 7 seater mpv comparable to Toyota Wish.
At this stage, we still do not know the design of new MPV, but there are few posible design we can guess as Proton had already released few concept MPV model before. Few years ago, Proton had displayed a clay model of its MPV. Below are the concept model pictures:
Later on, Proton also displayed a MPV concept model at Geneva Motor Show 2006 under Lotus brand which is Proton subsidiary company. The model is called Lotus APX. It is posible that the the Proton will use APX design for the new MPV too.
For your information, the Proton also bought 3 unit of Toyota Wish for research purpose. So we can expect the new Proton MPV will have the size of Toyota Wish. Let's hope that the new mpv will perform as good as the Toyota Wish.
I found some picture over the net about the Toyota WIsh that Proton used for research purpose. Sources say that the 3 Toyota Wish had been fitted in with 2.0 perdana V6 engine, Campro 1.6 engine and Campro 1.6 supercharged engine.
Do not worry, the Proton MPV is not a copy of Toyota Wish, they just use the Wish to research the feature and engine. Then they will use it on their own design MPV.
